Led lighting question

Hi, all

I was browsing today and see this marineland led light(Marineland Double Bright LED Light Fixture), it says it has (8) 1W Daylight LED's Totaling 600 Lumens. I wonder if anyone tried these, I am thinking go topless and replace the original 130D hood to TWO of these units, Will that be enough for sps corals?
btw, does anyone know what the the lumens value for the 110W red sea max lights?
Thanks

That fixture has been around for quite some time. You can absolutely not grow SPS corals with that light.

I'll agree - even two units wouldn't be enough light on the tank. No idea what the lumens are on the stock fixture.

I've seen the newer Marineland fixture, but I honestly don't know if it's good enough for corals. I think those may be 1 watt LEDs? Everything I've been reading says that 3 watt LEDs are needed to give enough light penetration to the bottom of the tank.

The one's that Glenn linked look pretty good. I really like these from BoostLED (RS sponsor):

If it wasn't meant to be a suspended fixture I'd get one.
