HOB refugiums?

I was looking on eBay and found these. They look really cool and looks like it would work great for growing pods. I have a 20 gallon long and have a mod AC50 as a refugium right now. I'm thinking about getting this and using it instead of the AC50. Whats your guys thoughts on these units?

Having used one on my system, IMHO these small refugiums are a complete waste of time and money. There just isn't enough water volume in one of them to hold a decent DSB or a large amount of macro algae.

Get something much larger that will do what you need. You can easily build one out of a modest size tank.

I was just thinking about using it as a HOB tank to hold and breed pods.

If that's all your after then you just need Cheato, pods and a light unless you have enough light from your DT to get back to it. Have fun!
