HOB Overflows

I have an Eshopps HOB Overflow (300gph). I've had a few people say that they would be afraid of it overflowing the tank. If I put a check valve on my return that should prevent my sump from overflowing in the event of a power loss. How do I make shure the HOB overflow begins working again when the power comes back on?

Check Valves aren't very reliable. They only FAIL when you need them most. I just allow for enough water in the system to back flow.

As for restarting I don't have a clue.

I have an old no name overflow and it restarts itself.

like Al said. sump should have enough room for backflow water.

thanks for the advise.

I will keep the back flow preventers as well as make sure there is enough room in my sump just in case.
