Help cleaning pump

Well, I'm cleaning a sump pump for the first time. I was wondering what the heck you all use to get the calcium deposits off? The impeller is almost all white.

Thanks,

Get a five gallon bucket and fill it half way with water. Add a one cup of muratic acid to the water. Assemble pump and place in bucket and run pump for 30 mins. Empty bucket and rinse pump completly with tap water. Disassemble pump and clean with an old tooth brush. Use a q-tip to get into the impeller housing or other small areas.

The muratic acid will break down the calcium which is causing the parts to turn white. Distilled vinager also works but it will take more vinager and will aslo take alot longer.

Note: when using muratic acid the soulution should not be mixed more than 1 part acid to 10 parts water. Always add the acid to the water. Always wear gloves and eye protection.
