Very nice, my Damsels are doing something similar... Laying white spots... Supposedly supposed to turn into black spots=babies?

I made another mod to my system. I remember seeing this somewhere else, and thought it would be a good thing to do so I don't have to take the collection cup off all the time. I pulled the drain cap off, put in some airline and ran it to an empty 2lt bottle. Now when it over flows, I just pull out the hose and empty the bottle, not the collection cup.

I also did some frags of my Dragons Breath. I now have 12 frags total of that stuff. Trying to get it growing nicely for sale. Hope to make some money back. :)

Just be careful if your skimmer ever goes nuts and into heavy overflow mode that 2l can overflow. I rigged up something similar, but I have the extra over flow bucket over the sump so if it ever overflows it will go into the sump and not the floor.

What size hose did you use. Regular aquarium pump hose diameter seems to small?

Stunning fish,

I have the tube from skimmer, but have it upright attached to the front middle upright strut higher than the skimmer. To empty I just pull the pipe out of the tie wrap its wedged under and pop into a bucket. Hey presto skimmer emptied without lid removal, and I just pop pipe back under the tie wrap ready for next time.

Note it is important that the pipe is higher than the skimmer, to stop it emptying onto the floor.

Another addition in QT right now.

I have been asked what kind of fish this is. It is a Borbonius Anthias. Not a cheap fish. I got lucky and won it at our club meeting. It is such a catch, that I was getting offers to buy it before my girlfriend even sat down from picking it out. I think I will keep him.....LOL!!!

Tell me about it. They drew the member tickets before the standard raffle tickets. When you win the member raffle, you get your pick of live/dry goods outside of the main prize for the evening (which can be an RO unit, skimmer, ATO or something along those lines). When my girlfriend won, she was escorted to the fish and everyone told her to pick that fish. She didn't even know what it was (neither did I), but she took it anyways. Everyone was kind of pissed they didn't get it, but hey, it is all in good fun. They gave us really good advice on how to QT it and take care of it. When we got him, he had no spots, and there was a red spot under his gills. After putting him in the QT, he calmed down, the red spot went away, and his color returned. So far so good. :) I am looking at putting him in the DT this weekend. We shall see.

Thanks!!! This is one cool fish. I am taking it very slowly with him. I am going to put it into the DT in a small QT tank so the other fish can see him and get used to him being there. That should take the stress off of him once he is in the main tank with the other fish. Right now he is eating mysis like crazy. Glad to see he has a great appetite, that is always a good sign.
