i thought they did, and i used to have alot of them just because they looked cool. not i am having a lot of red buble algae pop up, and i need it gone. it looks horrible. i just wanted to make sure they ate it, before i ordered alot of crabs lol.
Also, how many would you recommend for a 55 gallon tank? there are hundreds of small red bubbles :help:

My Emeralds ate green bubble algae, I didn't have any red bubble algae so I don't know... but I wouldn't get more than 4 or 5 in a 55.. IMO

Normally they will eat it and eradicate it from the rocks completely but some are picky like golden said.
I had a friend that was overwhelmed by that algae and one emerald crab cleaned the whole tank in under a week. It may have to do with where the crab originated from that makes the difference.

I have had emeralds eat the green bubble, but never the red bubble. IMO, the red is much harder to control than the green too.
