Coral ID conf. please. - Hydnophora

I think this is a hydnophora.

Neither the young lady at the LFS, nor one of her coworkers could ID it. It's in a pretty safe spot in the tank, so I'm not worried about aggression. It hasn't tried to tentacle anything else in the tank, but nothing is near it.

I'm pretty sure it is a Hydnophora, but I'm not sure what type (or if it really makes a difference for placement or flow).

Yep you are correct.
You will want to give the coral some space around him or at least keep it away from your more prized corals as they are a very aggressive coral.
