This is the kind of thing that might show up in www.reefbase.org if they can do some studies about it.
Why is anyone shocked or surprised by articles like this?
This sort of thing has been going on for years in all parts of the world. One example, New York only stopped sludge dumping in the ocean in 1988. That was only 26 years ago. It took an act of congress to make that stop.

It is sad. We are also destroying reefs. Guam is one location, making way for a larger harbor for navy ships.
