Hi All! We have a couple of these on the rock that we acquired. But we really are not sure what it is. Any ideas?

It appears to have a little damage (some areas are missing the little fuzzy hairs that are around the indentations) but we hope it can repair itself.

Siderastraea radians this is Atlantic live rock.
When you say "acquired" you do mean obtained/purchased legally right?

Hi ARA! Thanks for pointing us in the right direction! We do believe that this rock is from the Caribbean. Although the three different Siderastraea Radians that we have do not appear exactly as those in the photos that we have viewed so far, we are enjoying learning more about them!

You asked about them being; obtained/purchased legally right?

Everything that we have has been acquired legally. We support aquaculture whenever possible. These corals came attached to live rock that we purchased.

Sorry to be crass, but why would you read into someone's post about live rock and suggest that they may have acquired the rock illegally?? A Canadian resident at that? Did you think that they waded out to the Canadian tropical reef and snatched some rock? :D
