5G skimmer

So, I have been holding off on update pics of my tank and LR rack because i neglected my tank over the summer... not alot, but enough (i know... bad...).

Anyhow, part of my neglect was not replacing my old skimmer that wasn't performing. Now that summer's over and my projects moved inside... Check out my new DIY 5g Skimmer! (it's a bit ghetto around the connections, but it's only patch work)

The the bottle gets filled with a pump in the tank... and bubble action is created by the 2 re-circ pumps that are mesh moded...

I'll tell you now... the mesh mod works....hahahhaa

Very creative. You certainly managed to get a lot of bubbles.
I hope it works well for you.

I like it! I'm interested in seeing how well it works for You. Where can I find info on this " mesh mod"?

This bottle is made of polycarbonate..
Does anyone know if these water bottles are safe to use with ozone?

The 1/2"hose input is located in the back of the skimmer. It's fed by a 300gph power head located in a sump behind the skimmer.

The return is also located behind the skimmer and back into the sump.
There's a ball valve on the return so that I can control the height of the water in the skimmer.

It works awsome!!
