I've had this skimmer for about 2 years now. It has worked great, but recently the foam is not foam, it's very wet and the bubble pop quickly. I the video helps show you what I dealing with.

Get it in your main tank and see if the polyps start to come out, I don't see any reason to leave it in the QT. My vote is some type of coral.

I use frozen water bottles. I only need to do it a couple months out of the year and only while the lights are on. I put one in the sump and when its melted and cooled to the water temp I replace it with another. I work from home so it make it easy to monitor. Good Luck!
