looks like an r/o systems to me, it is not an ro/di thats for sure. looks to be a 3 stage filter system. if there is a name on it see if they have a website and ask them.:clink:
i know alot of people that used tap water unfiltered and it will work but the problems is you will have algea problems long term so i say no. this is not a cheap hobby so when you invest in a peice of equipment for your tank buy the best you can afford at the time. good luck to you...
same 1 i used on my 120, never had a problem with it. if it does'nt have the plastic screen with it i'd advise making 1 for it because i did have a few fish go in it and end up in the sump.

look into the rio hyper flo models i've had good luck with them. the other rio pumps sometimes are hard to get restarted after cleaning them. the hyper flo models are cheaper then the mag drive pumps also.

it's called an aqua lifter pump, cpr over flows use this pump to keep there syphon. i ran 1 on my 120 before i tore it down when we moved and never had a problem with it but have heard horror stories from people that have had floods after a power outage because the syphon did'nt restart. i think...
