I've been recounting my experience with some macro's in my display refugium and i'm not sure if my photo-period was enough. Any thoughts........

I always ran my fuge light opposite my tank lights to help with the PH swing. I guess that means my fuge was lit about 14-15 hrs a day.

That's a good place to start. Like a lot of other things in the hobby, you start some place and the raise or lower the photo period and amount of light depending upon your requirements.

If this is a new tank setup, you end up trying to "hit a moving target" because the macro algaes are growing and may need more light, but the nutrient level may be getting reduced and limiting the macro algae growth. Expect to be making adjustments for quite some time.
