Hi All
Just a quick query - has anyone managed to find a suitable pump for a chiller to fit into the rear of the Red Sea Max C-250 (or RSM 250 model) in the compartment designated for this purpose? The issue seems to be the size of the space as it is limited to approximately 10cm (L) x 10cm (W). The pump would need to be powerful enough for a Teco TK500 chiller.
For those who do not know the design of the RSM C-250, the water would need to be pumped at least 50cm upwards out of the rear and then down by over 1m to the chiller (gravity can deal with that) and then pumped upwards again by over 1m into the rear. I just don’t want the water flowing too fast in that the chiller will be rendered less efficient and obviously not too slow either. If no suitable pump can fit in the space, then it might have to stand vertical, but I do not know whether this would render the pump less effective.
I have attached a picture of the sump; the chiller pump is supposed to be placed in position 11.
