Been a productive and busy time with my tank and its room, all while making way less progress than i had hoped for. I am going to work on building a table thing to hide my dog crates in and create an end table type concept as we continue to develop this room. I need to finish wiring in my battery backups, but since i am doing custom wiring on it, it is taking more than i care to do at this moment.

I also need to pull the canopy, shorten the bolts holing the lights and sand an edge down to help it open and close easier.

I have some corals that are moving into my friends tank that he bought off me and when i finally get them out, i will get some more sand sifters and hopefully rescape a bit to help with flow and surface area for the corals i keep.

I hope you all are doing well and enjoying this time of year!

Waiting for my gif to finish and new video to be uploaded under the blue lights. That said, I am loving the view through this side of the tank and cannot wait to get the anchor out.

First pic is a side shot. Just cleaned the glass the other day.

Im totally sold on black sand for my next overhaul.

It has its downsides. The major one that stands out is that my starfish isnt in love with staying in the sand bed and i had to buy a goby big enough to handle its size.

That said, well worth the effort as it makes the corals shine versus being washed out in the white. Of course, this is my opinion and there are a lot of tanks i drool over that have white sand.

What a night! I came home from work, feeling sick and tired. I went to the tank and saw my two new buddies out and about, kind of. This maybe me start taking pics. As i was playing around with the camera, trying to get some decent shots, i saw something light up under the blues that i didnt see before. Turns out, some rando piece of coral found its way into my system and i have no idea what it is yet or where it came from. I clean, inspect and dip everything. But somehow, someway, this little tiny frag found its way into the setup.

I immediately pulled it from the sand and tried taking pictures. All look like crap of course, but here are some shots from the night and my new little buddy (maybe).

While taking pictures, I had some residents annoyed I didn't capture them, so here is the aftermath.

Several months ago, back in my 75g days, i asked for help with my sail fin. She suffered HLLE from stray voltage in my system. Shortly after, i almost had a system crash from over medicating the display and blah blah blah. To this day, she refuses to let go and therefore i keep her in the system. My wife and I both want a new sailfin with... sails... but until Sally decides to leave, she will stay with us. She looks like hell, but still dominates the tank and is very active. Here she is last night. At this point its safe to say she will never recover, but she is still strong!

Got my battery backups in after a heck of a mess with the clear coat, but whatever.

Down side is I came home yesterday to my new fish making a mess with my sand bed and then today to my too off draining the whole reservoir for no reason. So I disconnected that and put my skimmer catch can in place for the upcoming time away. Going back to a more simple design in too off.

Also set up my fuge lite for now. I need to finish building the mount, but since I need lite more than I need a good look, it's up.

Another interesting set of days. Turns out the Dotty did in fact cross the rainbow bridge. Found it's spine in the tank today while removing coral. Shame for many reasons, one of which is k have no idea what caused it.

Also pulled the last of the rocks and coral out to get into my buddies (my "old" 75) and am ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow we raise the zoa mountain and add more rock while rescaping the tank. After this, there will be a zero mess with policy out into place.

Sad to see so much go, but happy to see the new opportunities and room for the corals I really want.

The first four photos are of my tank before I took everything out and the 5th is his work on the 75. He did amazing.

Now to start dreaming of the new scape and where I will locate all my corals, mostly away from that darn goby!
