Question about doubling up on LED lights

Hi everyone.
This is a dumb question but since I have no access to a PAR meter, I figure it's better to ask.
I ran into a deal that I couldn't refuse on another pair of lights and want to add them to my existing pair although this is a perfect example of overkill. All lights are the same model so here is my question.

Is it reasonable to assume that doubling the coverage of lighting would require me to reduce my intensities by 50% to avoid scorching my corals? It would be much more comforting if I had access to a PAR meter so I would know for sure, but I don't.

If you make the adjustment slowly, you should be able to add the additional lighting and ramp it up.

The higher amount of light is not necessarily bad for the tank, but you should check on the specific requirements for each coral you have. SPS corals will likely love it. Polyps and brain corals may not like so much light and may need to be relocated to a darker place in the tank.
