my Cheato is not growing....

Hi guys

My cheato in the refugium is not growing. It had a very well growth during the first 2 months. I had to prune a lot. After that I can see the same amount.

Any idea of what is going on ?

What's your bio load? How much are you feeding?

I was in a similar situation in the past and found I just want feeding enough to supply enough nutrients for the chaeto to grow. See what others think...

Yeah without nutrients, it will fade away. With my tank (which you've seen) the cheato grew well for the first 4-6 months but once things got stabilized and under good maintenance, I've been unsuccessful reintroducing chaeto, just wilts away.

Thank you guys. I was thinking the same but I really had no experience. I always had refugium and macro growing, in other tanks. Looks like my new sPs tank is too clean. Fish eat like pigs and I feed them almost every day and corals once a weeK with phytoplancto. But now that I think, the tank is without any algae over the rocks.
