Lots of us use Photobucket to host our pics - but RS can "host" them too...

to do that... click here (Media Button) below...

http://www.reefsanctuary.com/forum/index.php?media/

then on top right - click on the button ADD MEDIA from this page - and upload a pic from your pc

once loaded it's easy to display - right click on it - copy image url & click on the Picture Frame Icon in any post, add it there & it will show up :)

If you have any question feel free to ask, more than happy to help ! As some nice RS member once help me !

Saxon pila - One way to reduce the size of the file would be to save it as a lower quality jpg on your pc. I'm not sure what file types the site accepts, but you could also save it as a different file type (.gif or .tiff) and that may reduce the file size.

Here the way I reduce pic sizes...

http://www.picresize.com/

but if you "host" them on Photobucket , when you upload them it resizes for you. If you happen to have an Iphone there a Photobucket app, that makes it real easy. Then just click on the little "picture frame" Icon and add the URL (pics web address) there and it will show up in your post. :)

Photobucket has started charging for pics they host that are displayed at "third party" sites... sad, boo... :frown: :cold:

*What is 3rd Party Hosting?
Photobucket defines 3rd party hosting as the action of embedding an image or photo onto another website. For example, using the <img> tag to embed or display a JPEG image from your Photobucket account on another website such as a forum, Etsy, eBay auction listings, a blog, etc. is definitively 3rd party hosting.

Hi all. Im having problems with RS image hosting. A message says that file is to large, but is below the 10Mb.
Do you know if there is a way to post pics hosted on dropbox? I can copy a link but I prefer to show the pic directly in the thread.
Thanks
