sooooooooo i was gone from Firaday evening until sat evening for halloween.

when i got home on sat, my tank looked, well, bad.

a 4"x4" spot of cyano showed up outa nowhere.

THEN! GUESS WHAT I SAW!!!

my freggin acans were eating (really ripping) my lettuce nudi!!!

half was eaten, the other i tried to take out and dissolved all over my tank!!!!

uggh.

its just an assumption, but i think when homie got sniped by my acans, he got my tank all, dirty like.

so i did a 4 gal WC, and boxed up the tank for 3 days total darkness after i sucked the cyano spot out.

in 3 days ill do another 4 gal WC when lights come on again.

but, how bout that huh?

Yikes! Are you running CARBON ? I would be!

I'm not a "nudi" fan by any means and that goes double for smaller tanks.

Keep an eye on it and have your water already made up and ready to go ahead of time. :)

Bob I'm going to let you in on a "Rule Of Life" that has served me well in my 38 years here on Planet Earch..... write this down and memorize it...

"You gotta be TOUGH if you're gonna be STOOPID!"

That would be why Bane is in your tank and not mine.
Hope everything recovers from the nudi.

the whole tank (other than the cyano) looked fine.

i mean, the acan looked FULL....

the cyano is prolly not attributed to the darn thing, but it was like wham bam!

thats about 4-6 hrs of tank work... then mantis SCHMACK!

happy hangover...

I guess the acan had a good meal and Bane was mad you spent so much time in the tank and ignored him. Next time give him some love and attention. :)

possible its from the light change. I have had all kinds of wierd phases of algae since the light change. The first week was that super fine green algae that grows on the glass but growing at a lightning pace. Then I had dino's while the coraline started turning white, now I have a wierd cyano growing. Its almost translucent. Since all the other phases came and went I am gonna give the tank more time to adapt to the new light before doing anything different.
