Help :) sealing bulkhead threads...

Do I have to use plumbers tape/silicone (my choice) while tightening
my closed loop lifters, the drain and bulkheads?

I did not and assumed that the pressure against the gasket is sufficient.

Is this right?

Heya Kim....I used silicone on my drain and bulkheads. I did not use plumbers tape but I do not think it will hurt if you use both... :) Hope that helps...I am sure others will "pipe" in too!

Cheers!

ok, thats what i did.
Hiya Rodge! I was just contemplating the consequences of not using an adhesive and relying on the gasket seal and made this post ;)
Im looking for opinions before tightening to the max.

hmmm...... i must have got side tracked on this :( Thats right mike, you dont need tape with the bulk heads. the gasket will seal just fine. When i thread my closed loop pipes into the bulk heads i use teflon tape to seal that up. but not on the bulk heads being fastened down to the tank itself.
