Well after selling my 190 and taking a year off, I am finally back in the game with my new 135. Got the tank for $100 from a local reefer here in SoCal, and now I am working on the stand and canopy:

2x4's all around, with a cross-bracing on the back and a removal center brace for ease accessing the sump.

The kiddie car boxes seen in the picture have been repositioned to accommodate the tank.

The stand seen here with the center brace installed.

Yes that is an AI Vega color sitting next to a can of Skilz oil-based primer:yup:

The beginning of my controller box that will house, well the controller, and all of its modules. I learned a valuable lesson with my last setup, and will keep the controller from under the stand with the sump to avoid saltcreep and moisture and humidity issues.

The controller box will be painted black to hide the cords so as to limit their visibility when the door is open.

All comments and suggestions are welcomed.

Wow I loved all the pics and how you took us threw step by step! That was awesome! BTW how did you get that old tank so clean??? I have had chances to buy tanks that looked like that but wouldnt because I didnt know how to get all of the old coraline and crud off of it. Is there a special trick??

Hey BigAl, I've been trolling for awhile here, and spoke with Frankie the other day. I tell ya I sure missed you all, and I missed having a tank. How have things been in your neck of the woods? And as far as doing it half way, I promised the wife Ikea quaintly building this time around......lol!!

Hello Leslie how are you? I used vinegar and EG to get the tank all shiny. What is EG you may say?.....EG is elbow grease:)....and 4 fresh razor blades.

I thought I'd seen your name on the list a while back. Very good to see you back in the game.

Things are well over here... if it would just slow down on the raining... I have to cross a river and then drive parallel to it to get home (one way in and out) and it looks like I may be either getting stuck at HOME or at WORK depending on timing... Oh well.. could be a lot worse.

Glad you're going "All In" and this is going to be a stunning build. Looking forward to seeing it spring to life :)

Yeah Leslie anytime you see a great deal just nab it and sit on it if you have to, they make great future projects, and thank you for the compliment.

I'd prefer the "get stuck at home" option...lol! I'm going to go and view some of the info in your sig, especially how to increase my reef budget while not starving:)
