They both attempt to do the same thing and if sizing is adequate there isn’t a need to do both. Nothing says you can’t but it probably complicates the process of figuring out how much to dose or dial in

If you can do it, a CA reactor is the preferred choice. Usually a small one is all you need, but there are some people that also run it with a kalk reactor.

Before you get involved with any methods to supplement Ca, make sure you really need it. Test for how much Ca depletion you are having and add a reactor or 2 part only if water changes can't keep up.
