sump

Been in the hobby for about a year now. Stopping by to learn more about better skimmers and sump options under my biocube29. ATO needed too. LPS now>SPS next year.

The rear sump of my RSM 130 is level with water across all chambers with no movement. My question is, behind the gate (1st chamber) shouldn't the water have a "Waterfall" effect dropping water down into the chamber from the display section of the tank? I have a Media rack set up behind the gate...
