Smaller tanks can fluctuate very easily due to their small water volume. Something simple as a snail dying can release nitrates in the water.

I personally like the Eshopps sumps. The ADV line instead of the R is great as well.

Definitely make sure you know the construction of the apartment before going through with the project.

At least you caught the problem before plunging in too deep.

Ensure the coral is healthy before you purchase a specimen. I would even buy some coral dip to medicate the corals before putting them into your tank. One wrong coral and it could compromise your other livestock in your aquarium.
