Montipora Digitata:Also known as: Velvet Coral, Velvet Finger Coral, and Velvet Branch Coral. These corals are found from deep waters to shallow. But, mostly found in the Turbid Lagoons. They are found in various color formations, Green, Pink, Purple and Brown are the most common. The tips of the ramose species are often colored lighter, even white.They are generally very hardy and fast growing. Not real susceptible to disease or bleaching, since they have a deep set polyp.Montipora are a submissive corals that dont have strong defensive mechanisms, therefore you need to place them away from other corals so they have room to grow. They almost always loose in a Territorial battle.They are an adaptable species of coral, when it comes to lighting.It is very easy to frag this coral since it is of the branching species.
