Zomania and aquaticgems

I got some mushrooms from Nic and they are kind of smaller than advertised. Anyone have any experience with them and does this happen often on internet purchases? This doesnt happen with Dennis at Sharkysreef but I was intrigued by some things they showed on EBAY . Buying livestock online is like playing Russian Roulette . Peter

Are you talking about the mushroooms themselves, or the colony as a whole was smaller?
Is it the same rock that was shown for sale?

That's why I like Dr. Mac, their corals are photographed with eggcrate behind them so you have a good idea of size.
Some places are really good about telling you the size. I've received peices that are actually bigger than advertised from a few places also.

Individual pieces advertised as 3/4 to 1 inch and 1 inch plus. All came in barely at 1/2 inch. Jeez if thats what people can expect I just became a frag farmer! In his defense he gave me a good deal on shipping but his internal problems at his place delayed my order for some 2+ weeks. Im getting to the point with my tank that I want a few centerpiece type SPS pieces and dont know where to turn.

Who did you buy the Mushrooms from? I know Nic at www.zomania.com, but havent heard of Eric. AFAIK Nic is the only one running Zomania. Zomania is near my house, and Nic is a really nice guy. I havent heard anything negative about him or his business at any of the forums...thats why I'm kinda surprised.
Nic has donated frags to our local reef club in the past....good sized frags IMO.....

One week later , no returned contact and mushrooms still tiny and unlike advertisement. Having spent close to 200 bucks Im getting p#$%^d and considering lighting him up in his EBAY feedback.

OK Happy Ending ! . Nick came through with some pieces at his own expense and made good. It didnt take much to make me happy, it was more the gesture. He lived up to his feedback profile and I can comfortably recommend his service now. Hes still no Sharkysreef but Im happy again.
