Smile That Pet Place

Did I ever tell you guys how much I love my LFS? I went there tonight to get some peppermint shrimp to deal with some nasties in my tank and then remembered that I wanted to buy another 30lbs. of sand. When I move I will be replacing my CC with sand. So I then remebered I had a 30% off coupon I could use so I got 2 shrimp and 30lbs. of dead sand for $24 and the girl at the register gave me another coupon, WOOHOO!

Re: That Pet Place

Ok, never heard that one before. I would think that soaking it in Ro water for about a week should alleviate that problem though.

hmmm that would make Me pass it up too. If I were betting I would say

"Will Raise PH" = MAN MADE masonry rock... heavy, dense and not what I would pay MONEY for!! Just a hunch!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...(-NO3=WC%)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: That Pet Place

I can't think of any other reason to post a sign like that can you?

I have some VERY nice looking Man-Made rock that looks very real and even has "cough-Fossil-cough" remains in it. But it's MASONRY and it will raise the PH for several months. And it's just HEAVY! If you had to PAY for it you'd be wasting your money for sure.

Re: That Pet Place

yes, I ALWAYS use that pet place too. I live within 20 minutes of it. They have that man made rock, but then they also have regular Fiji rock, Solomon Island rock, Tonga rock and nano rubble. I just bought about 85 lbs of Tonga and Solomon Island mix for my tank from there.

That place has the cheapest prices around and then they always run 30% off sales and have coupons.
