| Tunicate | Hi, I am new to this so here is my problem.I am disabled so i do alot of shopping online.This includes my saltwater needs and i havn't had any problems till about two months ago.I order from port coral.com the owner name is Dave and i havn't recieved my fish yet.I paid him in May and he stop anwering my e-mails last month.I feel he is a thief and not much of a business man.If u have a problem like this or have had a problem like this what did u do.Plus please beware of this site it just isn't right to take what some work so hard for. ![]() ABlunt Last edited by Witfull : 08-01-2006 at 10:56 AM. |

What I'd do: If those folks didn't reply to phone calls, I would immediately report him to an internet fraud resource (yes, they do exist). Just google "internet fraud reporting", which I remember doing a while back. And if necessary, document everything and forward a letter to the Federal Trade Commission (yessir). Checkout: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menu-internet.htm (search for the word "fraud"). This process can be time consuming and a bit exasperating, but it's assertive action and has certainly worked for me in the past. Heck, if I knew the city and address, I'd send the documentation to the local chamber of commerce or better business bureau (vendors usually have licenses to sell) where that person(s) operates from. From past experience, nothing generates action like reporting to the offending vendor that you will take such direct action. Hope you get that refund. axl | |

What area do you live in? Perhaps another member would be willing to take you lfs shopping. I know I am always looking for an excuse. LOL Best of luck. Hope you at least get your money back.

Also warning other hobyists is a good thing, you would be surprised at how word of mouth spreads throughout the reefing boards. good luck and keep us posted btw...shouldn't this thread be on ''vendor experiences?''

| Torch coral | Re: Got a problem!!! I worked for a credit card company for numorous years and you need to contact them quickly. The merchat has, by law, 30 days from the day they charge your credit card to provide you with the merchandise. Your dispute window is small so please do not hesitate to call your card company immediately.

Luckily my step father is a lawyer and wrote him a nasty letter (not exactly nasty - but scary nonetheless). I guess this made the guy realize that I wasn't kidding around when I sent an invoice asking to be paid! Anyway, if you don't have access to a lawyer, you can still write a letter (no nastiness, mind you and be sure to send it certified) - stating that you never received your purchases, though your money was taken, and you will have to take legal action against him AND his company if you do not receive payment ASAP. May or may not work to get your money, but regardless it is documentation that you are actively pursuing it. I wish you the best of luck. It's extremely unprofessional and morally unacceptable that people act this way. |

| Tunicate | Re: Got a problem!!! sorry about the news. I have found that www.saltwaterfish.com is a good sight to shop from. I have not heard of any complains. They ship right to your door so you don't have to leave the house, plus they have a 15 day guarantee on their fish. They also have specials so u can get good deals. |

Sorry it's been awhile u guy's but i have been in and out of the hospital.I'm hang in there and now i'm back on my quest.I still havn't heard from Dave at port coral I gave him a chance to do the right thing.I filled out a complaint with the IC3 and hopefully it helps all i really want is my order.I do have good news I have a 200gal. tank with some great fish like a black puffer and a marble cat shark with the most beautiful color patterns i will put pictures up soon.
