i need to do a bunch of research before I end up getting a clam in my 40g. Basically I have 6700k lights over the tank because I will be adding seagrass in there. Will this kelvin be OK for clams, or would you suggest the 12k and actinics I have over my 55.

I have 4(65w 12000k) and 2 actinics in my 55, and the 40 has two of these bad boys. Lights of America 65W Fluorex floodlight (Brown) (9266)

And yes, they are VERY powerful! They evern give the shimmering look MH's do

Re: Let's see some clams!

I would hate to give bad advice on this so i will recomend following this link and posting your question there. Clams Direct :: Index In my opinion i would say no under the 6700k.

Thanks for the link. I was also leaning toward no under the 67k but wanted a second opinion just to double check.
