Re: I really want a clam!

Very nice Blue Maxima, did you let him attach to a small flat rock before placing him there ? It's very difficult to move them without stress or damage once they attach to the rockwork. The Blue rim Deresa looks great too ! If it's in a location where it can receive light I would leave it and let it acclimate to your tank.

Re: I really want a clam!

You have no idea how BAD I wanted clams! LOL I went shopping at my first oppurtunity. The maxima was already attached to a small flat piece of rock when I got him. How long should I give the blue rim to open fully before thinking about a move? The Maxima is just about 2" and the Deresa is a little smaller. I have phyto what's the best way to feed. I did the bowl dome thing this morning and that seemed to work but is that the best way?

Re: I really want a clam!

Ok nevermind, the Deresa is fully open already. I guess I don't have to think about moving him after all.

That's a good method or remove the clam and place it in a container with tank water and add the phyto.

Re: I really want a clam!

Keep the blue maxima up as high as you can, it's going to need the lighting to thrive. The central midline has some bleaching so keep it high and feed it as often as possible without overfeeding the tank. The blue is going to be hard to keep.

Re: I really want a clam!

It's doing fine so far. Here's a pic of where I have it in the tank. It's pretty high. What do you think? Should I try to grt him higher?

Re: I really want a clam!

would there be any way to move the clam more to the center, at the same level?? To my eyes and they aren't what they used to be, it looks like the brightest spot is more to the center.

How is the color on the maxima doing?? Can't tell by the pic...
