Flame Angel

The tank is sitting empty in my living room still cycling.
And I still don't know what I want LOL.

I have read so many books and reading on the internet I'm going cross eyed!
I read some places where a fish needs such and such size tanks and then I read other places where they say it needs something totaly different

My hubby wants small colorful fish, and I think thats prob the route I'm gonna take.

So lets say I build around a Flame angel, what would you all suggest for it's tank mates.
I wouldn't mind a few bottom critters in there too.
But it is not really a gotta have thing.

This is harder than my reef tank, cause I know what I can and can't have in there because of the coral.

Re: Flame Angel

I would wait a while before getting a Flame Angel. They can be a little difficult to acclimate and would be better suited to a tank that is a little bit more mature. They can also be a little aggressive and because of that you may want to consider adding it as one of your last fish.

How big is your tank? Please share pictures when you get a chance.

Re: Flame Angel

Flame angels are good fish. Ive never had problems with mine. Just a few other nice fish are bi color blennie, chromis, six line wrasse, royal gramma, cardinal fish, yellow tail damsels are the most mild damsel, and orange clowns. just remember to go slow.

Re: Flame Angel

It's a 90 gal, must have posted same time you did.

Yeah I know the tank has to be more mature for the angels.

But I'm just wanting some feed back on some fish I'm thinking about getting while I wait out the cycle.
I'm still in the thinking stages.

I'm making a list of them and I'll post them and see what you all think, my brain is working overtime
Maybe help me pick the ones that will get along together and what will fit.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~

Re: Flame Angel

Since you want to build around the angel I think he should be the biggest fish in the tank, so I would get smaller fish; I like the yellow sleeper goby. I had a large pink spoted that ate my crabs even after I feed the tank.
I also had a school of green chromis, that was nice to see.
