| Torch coral | Tang or Butterfly for a 50g? Are there any Tangs or Butterfly fish that are suitable for a 50g FOWLR tank? The other fish will be a pair of clowns, a coral beauty, a royal gramma and maybe a few green chromis.

| Torch coral | Don't black and white or chocolate heniochus grow to be 9 -10 inches? Wouldn't they need about 80g?

| Manta Ray ![]() | A long nose butterfly would be a safe choice. Tangs really need a fair amount of swim room, and also grow fairly decently sized. Nick

| Plate Coral ![]() | Yeah, I second the long nose. They can get a little large, but I think that you can get away with it.

| Cabbage Leather | I thimk with a tang or a butterfly you might be pushing the stocking limit of this tank assuming by a few chromisyou mean 3 then you already are talking about 7 fish and then to add a larger fish to the system could be trouble. The best way i had it explained to me was 3 1in fish crap less and make less of a mess than 1 3in fish but then again with it being FOWLR all of this could be a moot point and you would just have to worry about swimming space. | Regular Guy Moderator ![]() | I agree that you are really pushing the spade limits ogf your tank with that many fish. It is a real stretch even with lots of LR and a big skimmer. ![]()
