Question over stocked

why is a protein skimmer good for an over stocked tank?

It helps remove organics from the water. If the tank is overstocked you will have a lot of organics to remove so a protein skimmer is even more important that usual in an overstocked tank.

Skimmer removes the organics before they break down into what will ultimately harm your fish.
