Schooling Fish?

Can anyone suggest some fish that are colorful and will school a little? Besides Damsels.

Re: Schooling Fish?

Anthias MAY school for you, but are considered to be "delicate" fish, and should be kept by "advanced" hobbyists. Most require feedings several times per day.
MOST damnsels aren't very "community tank" friendly, with the possible exceptions of some of the chromises.
I've kept blue-green chromises for years with little to no aggression (other than within the school) and USUALLY, they will school somewhat.
Keep in mind, that schooling is a protection response, (designed to reduce predation) and usually, in a tank, fish either won't school at all, or only very little.

Re: Schooling Fish?

I have read that a great schooling fish is the Yellow Wrasse, beauitufuly bright yellow too which would look really nice. Many anthias are supposed to school as well

I tried the anthias thing to get some schooling fish... But they are all in seperate corners, so you never know!

Re: Schooling Fish?

I suggest green or blue chromis in a 55 gal, Anthias IMHO wouldn't be a good choice, your tank is just way to small to keep a school !

Re: Schooling Fish?

I have 3 Anthias and 3 Chromis and other than gathering together to be fed, they school verry little in my 55. The Chromis do school more than the Anthias though, so I would suggest them, and much less expensive and easier to care for.
