| Star Polyps | Bright Green Algea spots Hi all I have a 15g Hosp tank, that houses a Ocellaris,a small blue damsel and 3 hermut crabs. This tank is an adjunct to my 55g - when my clown pair hit maturity it was obvious one was not going to make it - so I separated them. Anyhow, I had a constant diatom bed for 5 months, which has subsided a bit, bit now am getting spots of a bright green ? algea ? This does not rinse off the faux coral like the diatom. The filter system is minimal (roller w/ charcoal) but the fish & crabs are happy. I never meant for this to be a long-term set-up. PH is 8 nitrates/nitrites/ammonia = 0 KH a bit low @ 8-9 temp 78 I need the algea police Does anyone kow what this green algea is? There also ALOT on the return from the filter, it may even have threads. Thanks!

| Rabid Wolverine Reefer ![]() | Re: Bright Green Algea spots thehard green is mostllikely a coraline, it comes in many colors. the algae in the tube is a filimentous algae that commonly grows in plumbing. its easy to get rid of,,,remove tube and rinse in hot vinigar water then flush clean.
