What I believe reefsanctuary means is that if someone gets ticked at the site they can't throw copyright up to have the photo removed, or demand royalties if the winning photos are used for RS products and what not.

Copyright law is probably pretty difficult for skilled lawyers (look at the napster situation), much less for a lowly civil servant like me. So tell us what you mean by this, please.

The wording has been changed to this:

I personally apologize to anyone who was offended by the previous wording.

I personally was not offended, just confused. Even had you left the wording the same I would not have been offended, simply would have had to think real hard before entering any contests.

Yeah -- I guess I'm having all kinds of problems with wording today, LOL

I realize that nobody was probably personally offended - I just wanted to stress that we weren't trying to steal anyone's pictures - and that we would have never considered them site "property". It's hard to get our arms around the legal mumbo jumbo at times.

Thanks to everyone for bringing this to our attention...we really appreciate all the feedback we get.
