Members- asking for your approval

Hi guys, ReefLady and I are moving forward with sponsors.

As you know, I own and operate a business called reef-life.com, which is and will continue to be a completely separate entity from ReefSanctuary.

However, I would like to put up a banner and give all the regular sponsor priveleges to reef-life, nothing more, nothing less.

I believe the members of ReefSanctuary should be rightfully concerned about the commerical undertones of any site. I want to be absolutely sure that the membership here does not have a problem with me having sponsor priveleges on this site. If you guys feel it is a conflict of interest, or inappropriate in any way, please say so here- it will certainly not be held against you.

If you guys are OK with this, and at any time in the future feel that I have overstepped the boundaries between the two businesses, please feel free to contact myself or ReefLady and the situation will be corrected immediately.

I'm laying it out here, for your blessing or your disapproval, because above all I want everyone here at ReefSanctuary to understand that this is and will always be an independent forum.

just for clarification, what are the sponsor priveledges you mentioned?
Personally, i'm not against you doing it. i see it as paying for a tv commercial or an ad in the paper.

I understand you are asking a delicate question and I'm not trying to make light of it one bit. I have taken the mod hat off and this is my opinion as a member.

I see no problem with this, especially since you are being upfront about the issues and are asking for our acceptance. Thanks for allowing us to provide input on such a delicate subject.

You need to update your links and add reefsanctuary.com on to it, other than that I have no problem.

Thanks guys, I'll continue to read everyone's comments concenring the matter.

The exact sponsor priveleges are still being determined. It will definitely include a banner, a dedicated sponsor Q&A/specials forum, and we'll try to tie in some promotions.

These are the bare essentials, Mojo has some neat ideas that will take us a little longer to execute and we're always looking for new ways to help everyone get their money's worth.
