New Smilies!

How about doing some modifications to the smilies that are available for our posts? I personally would like to see one that has a hand slapping the forehead! You know, like "Duh! I should have known that!" Some improvements on several would be nice too. I DO like the explode however!

I offered to do some, but people felt that would merely be "fluff". So, i withdrew my offer. I didn't get my feelings hurt, but it's a lot of work and I could spend the time on my own stuff instead.

Maybe there are some public domain smilies out there. You can try to find some and then submit them to the mods for inclusion?

Tankgirl, I think you need to go re-read that thread. The way I remember it, we thought it would be great, but not necessarily the only direction to look.

If you have some sort of hard feelings, please bring it up with us, this is the first I've heard of it. We can't fix a problem if we don't know it's there.

edit: you edited while I typed. My offer still stands- if there's a problem let us know.

Here are a couple...

There are several sites where you can get your own smilies, if you want to know some of them, let me know. I can also show you where you can get a smilie management program, I have one that shows all the smilies, I click on and it inserts it in the reply box and even adds the img tags

Reefrunner, post the links! That'd be great as long as they're compatabile with the board.

I agree with Boomer Kev.
Post the link if you can. I still can't figure out how to insert those cool welcome signs and birtday cakes.
TIA

I would like to see the links. Now the big question is, if we use them do you open your self up to pop-up’s, I hate pop-up’s.

I'm not sure on the pop ups, my pop up blocker is pretty good and I rarely get pop ups anymore. Using the img tags with the smilies does not cause pop ups on the boards you use them on.

Here is a link to the program, it's 19.99 for a registered version the demo version is free and will work for as long as you have it, but I think it will have registration screens pop up every so often when you open the program. There are also a few features that only work if you have a paid version.

Here are places you can get some smilies, all these site allow linking to their smailies and you should be able to drag the smilie off the screen into your smiley manager

http://bestsmileys.com/
http://www.mysmilies.com/
http://www.plauder-smilies.com/

A quick google search will get you even more sites.
