Yes they dance every morning for about an hour when the lights come on. I'm having problem keeping my Ulva; the pods are eating all of it. The horses can't keep up. i may have to get a mandarin, but the tanks is only 20 g. I may crash my pods population that way. Not sure what to do. Will think about it. More reseach on the madarin is warranted.

Re: A great gift

I think i have a couple . Two of the seahorses are constantly together and holding tails. I'm actually not hoping for little horses. I'm not equiped to handle that. I'd have to give them away for sure. But i guess its a sing of heath and happyness from the horses. They must find their surrounding good enough for mating. Still has to be veryfied but Its always the same pair. So we'll see.

Vegetarian seahorses.

Well today i've confirm my suspicions. Seahorses do nip at certain algae. Saw mine go on and on and on at an algae. usually they got at it to get a pod . That is true and i see it sometime they snap at algae. But this morning this guy when on a codium branch, he snaped it and was sucking the inside of that branch. He must appreciate the inside juice or something. And the sound it makes is surprisingly loud. Thats how i noticed it and that how loud it was. The codium short was budding by the way. Its sort of decomposing, but in a good way. I've red that codium do that. They bud and desintegrates into small piece to float away in currents. Their way of spreading. So i got all kinds of small codium buds floating around and some found their little spots to grow roots i guess. But one thing is sure the horse was not just picking up pods. They may also be responsable for other algae vandalism lol. But in my mind it make sense. Like cats, seahorses are carnivores, but you see cat occasionally eating grass, the horses must have a similar behavior, in the wild they're surrounded by vegetation. Who are we to say they don't poke at algae once an a while. My theory and i'm sticking to it. Anybody else have horses that nip algae??

Re: A great gift

Interesting on the algae. I have never observed it. On the feeding issue, I have a feeding station. It makes things so much easier.

I wish i could do that too but i've got nassarius in the neighborhood ,lol. You know what that means. I 've put them there, because the horses are such a sloppy eaters so figure better have them in there. Never though you could feed them from a dish. I may try it but i fear the snails will get there first.
