My Newest Additions: Seahorses!

I picked up 6 S. Erectus from my friend today! 2 Females, 2 Males and 2 who are too young to sex.It's good to have SH's in the house again. They are still settling in. The females are still hiding in the macro. They should change colors soon when the are comfortable. The two smallest ones have orange-ish bellies. Here are some pics:

I lost those babies.

I never could train them on to frozen. I offered it at every meal and when they are growing as much as they are at that age nutrition makes a difference.

They all ate very well. I was surprised. Usually they don't eat on the first day.

Hey Blake! I like your new seahorses! They are real beauties of the sea! I want one but I just don't know much about them! Ive heard that they spawn like once a day! Or maybe it was once a month....who knows?

Thanks. They can reproduce every 2 weeks. The gestation is two weeks and some people have reported them getting pregnant the same day! Generally though They take a week before getting pregnant again.

It is the Red sea Max. I took off the hood now and it is at 73*.

hey blake can you give me some specs on water temp salinity and stuff like that. i may turn one of my nano's into a seahorse tank. thanks Blake and very nice horses!!!

Sure Jake no problem.Params are the same of what you would keep a reef at. Temp needs to be 75 and below. I am using a fan. It work surprisingly well. Just more evap. How big is the nano? You need to feed them daily and other than that they are pretty easy. I have a local source if you are really interested...
