| Madame Klanganator ![]() | Seahorses in a JBJ Nano Cube I've purchased a 24g JBJ Nano Cube that I'd like to make a species specific tank... some of the things in the running include: 1. seahorses, but I've read that nanos are not good setups for seahorses 2. an anglerfish, but John doesn't like the idea of a fish hunting down and eating other live fishes in front of his face. 3. clownfish/anemone tank, with my pair of Doni's clowns and an RBTA/GBTA. This seems the most likely since the clown babies will be ready about the time this tank could be cycled! Can you pony experts please give me the rundown of pros and cons of keeping seahorses in a nano cube? I understand that mods would be necessary for successful keeping. Thanks for your help!

| Golden Moray ![]() | Re: Seahorses in a JBJ Nano Cube The largest problem with the Nanocubes is they run too hot for seahorses and the flow tends to be a little high. A chiller is a definite must. You can always swap out the pumps for a smaller one or just put something on the outlet to break up the flow. A few folks use the Hydor rotating flow deflectors to do this. That tank would only work short term also as the horses would out grow it. An angler tank would be cool and they can be switched over to accept frozen foods so feeding live isn't always necessary.
