| Manta Ray | Re: Seahorse Tank? Are there any other options for filtration? Besides a sump. The tank will be going in a bedroom, so I need as little water movement noise as possible. Are there any mechanical filters that are worth using?

| Sunshine Reefer ![]() | Re: Seahorse Tank? Sorry, I've got a sump on mine. I do know that you have to work extra hard to keep the seahorse tanks clean. There is just soo much extra food involved that you need frequent water changes etc to keep things in line.

| Social Darwinism victim | Re: Seahorse Tank? You mean like canister filters? Those are so easy compared to the whole sump/skimmer/reactor/etc setups... One tube sucks water out of the tank. Goes to filter, where you put in whatever media you want, ammonia chips, carbon, etc. Another tube brings water back to the tank. Some are stronger flow than others. If you want it in with a sump, you can hook it so the filter sucks water out of the sump somewhere and back in.
