Ponies in a Fuge

I am setting up a viewable fuge. I want to keep a pair of seahorses. My tank will be around 15 gallons, I am still working out the dimensions. It will be attatched to my SPS tank. The average temp in the tank and fuge will be around 77-78. Is this too hot. I dont want any infections. I know I can keep ponies as I have before, jsut in too warm of water. I would like to give it another try, but I will not if my setup is not appropriate. Just needen some info, Thanks~Michael

Re: Ponies in a Fuge

Sorry, but that just won't cut it. For 1 the temp is too high and 2 15 gallons isn't really large enough for a pair of ponies. Idealy you want your temps in the 72-74 range and you should look in the neighborhood of a 29 gallon for a single pair.

Besides that, putting seahorses in your fuge will completely defeat any benefits of having it in the first place. They will wipe out any pod population you can think of having.

Re: Ponies in a Fuge

aha! Lynn has that tech tank from oceanic.... 90 gal, sweet setup. retail for tank, stand, lights was ROUGHLY 1500 (that's by me here in NJ. Don't know if Lynn got abetter deal.). don't think that was with a fuge though. If you sell the 100 and some of its components maybe you can make up the difference.
