Re: LCStorc's pony adventure

Just got off of the phone with Frank. Apparently we are looking for a stand today and doing the replacement. While the temp repair seems to be fine he is not trusting it at all.
One other thing I forgot to mention. If ever there is perfect timing this was it. Since we had just set up our water sustem we had 60g of NSW and 60G of RO/DI water available immediately. We were planning a water change but not this way.

I'm a firm believer in having extra SW ready. Good luck with the switchover.

It's best to get it done! I guess I need to do a periodic inspection of my stand! Sorry for your troubles! As always, wishing you the best!

Re: LCStorc's pony adventure

WOW! Glad nobody was hurt. AND glad the tank wasn't included in the destruction.

BTW, I loved Buddy the garden eel. He decided to take a trip down teh overflow and ultimately didn't survive it. They eat zooplankton.

Wow Lynn, that sucks to say the least.
Glad no one was hurt. Including the tank itself.
Sending happy thoughts your way.

They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Re: Lynn's 90 gallons of Sunshine

Well Oceanic gets good and bad marks on this one.
They are replacing the stand and their customer service was very prompt.
This is however the only stand made for the tech tanks so they will be replacing it with a stand with the same defect in design. We will be adding 4x4 supports to the new stand to prevent a future failure.
So sunshine is going to have to move to a new stand. I am not sure how much of a tear down we will have to do but I am assuming we will remove the fish and all of the rock and water. We will probably leave the substrate though I have wanted to add more sand for sunshine so I will take this opportunity do add a bag or two more sand to give him a good 4-5 inches. The jury is still out on adding another or not.
I'll keep everybody informed.

Glad to hear they are replacing the stand.
With your modifications I'm sure it will last a very long time.

Man, Lynn. This really stinks. It's a good thing you have some water standing by in case something happens before the move. Hope everything works out for you guys.

Re: Lynn's 90 gallons of Sunshine

It will be fine eventually. In fact it will kind of be good since I have never liked the aquascape but have never taken it apart to change it. Now I can add more sand and re-arrange everything.
The only problem is Sunshine will have to build his tunnels all over again. he has quite the network now. His head pops up all over the front side of the tank.
I think my husband has talked me out of getting a second blue. He is just so worried that they will fight and one or both will lose. I loce Sunshine so I really don't want anything to happen to him.
