Lynn and Franks 24g hitching post.

Well I am going to be slightly unusual as always and start a chronicle thread on my pony tank here in the seahorse forum. It makes sense in my warped mind anyway.
I of course have a rather odd setup. It is hard to show in a pic but I will attach the best one I have to the thread. I have a 24g Aquapod seahorse tank. Sounds simple right? HAHA Not! For starters I have raised the hood of the Aquapod about 5 inches off of the surface of the water. You will see why in a minute. My hitching post shares water with my reef system. My reef is a 125g mostly softy with some lps reef with a 29g sump and a 29g fuge with a DSB LR and several types of macro. I am running an ASM G4 plus skimmer in the sump. There is a small pump that moves water from the seahorse tank to the overflow of the reef and a gravity fed u tube that goes from the reef to the seahorse tank. This is both a blessing and a curse. It makes it very easy to keep the water paramaters in both tanks very stable. Particularly with my 20% water changes every other week. It also makes it difficult to keep the pony tank as cool as I would like. Right now I have the chiller feeding the reef. I believe I am going to move it or at least part of it directly to the seahorse tank.
Ok enough of the equipment already. Now onto the fun stuff.
I have LR of course, a sea whip for a hitching post. Several gorgonians as well for the same purpose. A yellow sun coral that is doing very poorly and an orange sun coral that is doing great. I also have 2 different types of xenia as well as Anthella. (I think that is what it is called. It looks like little palm trees.)
For livestock I have one peppermint shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, one yellow clown goby, several types of snails and 2 small fighting conchs. No crabs. I am too afraid of them getting my ponies.
For ponies, I just bought 2 baby redi little girls. They have a beautiful red color that I hope they keep. One has very pronounced white stripes and is smaller. The other one has thin stripes and is a bit larger.
OK I think I have talked enough. Here are some pics.

This is a very old pic of the two tanks together. The reef has changed dramatically since this was taken. It just gives you an idea of the setup.

Now some more recent pics of the pony tank. Everybody was already in bed for the night so you can't see the ponies in the pic but here is the tank overwiew.

Now for pics of most of the inhabitants. I will try to get more pics sometime this afternoon but at least it is a start.

Re: Lynn and Franks 24g hitching post.

I can get away with keeping the pony tank kind of open since I have so much LR in my reef and in the fuge. There are just a couple of pieces in the pony tank for everybody to hide in etc. The reef is a lot more full than that pic now. That was about a year or so ago. The pony tank pic is from last night.

Re: Lynn and Franks 24g hitching post.

They are Redi. Pretty young though. I am a bit nervous since they are so small, but they are both eating great so that is good.
