Green Moray Eel I found hiding out:

I took this photo when I returned alone (I prefer diving alone rather than buddy-diving) to the shark-feed site used by UNEXSO (Underwater Explorers Society) to put on a show feeding reef sharks in front of their scuba diving clientele off of Grand Bahama Island . This Green Moray Eel lives inside an abandoned hyperbaric chamber that was left on the ocean floor. At one time, there was a scientific study there pertaining to how long a person could live underwater. Now all that is left is a concrete pad that the "home" was on and this hyperbaric chamber that the eel claimed squatter's rights on.
Notice the "cloud" of brine shrimp swimming about him. He was/is quite friendly and will allow you to pet him.........but do so with caution.

Re: Green Moray Eel I found hiding out:

Fantastic eel photo! Thank you so much for sharing, look forward to seeing more.

My husband used to also be a diver, and dive instructor after he retired from FD and traveled quite extensively, most of his trips were centered around reefs. I too have an eel photo that he took when he used to teach. He would take his students to meet this eel and it would allow you to get quite close to it. I keep saying I am going to post his dive photos but just havent done so yet. I did scan a few them the other day though, so that is a start.

You're welcome. I'll have to scan some others when I find them again. I have some nice up-close photos of reef sharks at a shark feed I went on.
Where did your husband take his students to dive? Was that in Florida?

Yes, it was in Fl, in the Keys. He would also do a annual dive trip with the graduated students who wanted to participate and those trips were in other waters, Belize, Cayman, etc. I have some pretty cool pictures that he took on his dives as I am sure you also do. Sometimes I wish I could sink that camera in my tank and start snapping away

Hehe...........it may just work! I'm going to set my digital on macro and see if I can get some clear pics of a few things I want to ask other members to ID for me.
