I'm scared to get into the ocean because of the movie "jaws". But it sure sounds like it'd be cool if I didn't have that phobia

i saw jaws asa kid in hawaii...i puked,,and didnt surf for month...then,,well....gotta live before you die,,,,but still that fear of being eaten remains with me.

Part of my scuba open water training was to pet the nurse sharks! I almost didn't get in the water after I heard there were nurse sharks in there. Of course they were all very used to divers around them all day (it was an inland site, no escaping). They feel very strange. Oh, and don't put your hand it their mouth - duh!

We went snorkling off the Keys this past March, and there were some tourists who put their flippers on and tried to walk around while we were still heading out to a reef....they didn't speak English and the loud motor of the catamaran didn't help either, they didn't understand everyone telling them to take them off. ...it was funny in a mean kinda way. they kept falling all over the place.
Oh, and I kept fighting the urge to spray people with my sunscreen, there were a couple of peps with real fair skin who looked like lobsters by the end of the day, they said they were working on a tan...I guess so....lol...ok back to the topic...
