Biomatix Test Thread

I will be documenting my tests of this great new controller!

Here it is getting mounted, I plan on cleaning up the wiring once completely installed

The screen is flickering some they believe it may be a refresh rate problem due to something being knocked loose in shipping, easy fix.

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

Tested one Lumenmax elite with Dual Galaxy 250 watt ballast today, Set up the time to come on etc, everything went smooth.

It shows a graphical display of which lights are on...another great feature is the hotbox(similar to DC8 for aquacontrollers) is that the corresponding plug lights up if it is being used so you know if there is power running to each controlled item.

Live Rock Rubble will do the SAME thing as Bio-Balls and is NOT a suitable replacement for BIO-BALLS in a Reef System! It's ALL gotta go!!

Nitrate (NO3) reduction is directly proportional to percentage of Water Change.
Allen's home-made formula...currentNO3-((%WC*.01)currentNO3)=finalNO3 (thanks Luukosian)
This means if you change 50% of your total water volume (That's EVERYTHING) you'll get a net reduction of (NO3) somewhere around 50%.

Ask me about how to increase your REEF budget without going without FOOD!!

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

Another great thing I like about this controller is no more buying your own auto top off system, it cuts that expense as it is built into the controller and you can monitor your aquarium levels online to make sure you aren't flooding yoru house while away.

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

Water Level Controls

The water level controls use a float switch to monitor the high/low water level conditions of the aquarium. There are two operating modes for the water level control; Fill Mode and Overflow Mode. The user can define up to 3 AC device to be controlled by the Water Level routine.

Fill Mode

In the Fill Mode configuration a LOW float switch state will trigger the AC device output to an ON state. The primary purpose of this mode is to act as a water top-off system. Hence when a low water condition is sensed by the float switch a pump will be turned on to top-off the aquarium with fresh water.

Overflow Mode

In overflow mode the system is designed to turn off the specified device in the event a HIGH water level condition is sensed by the float switch module. This mode is used as a protective element in the event of a water overflow condition such as a leak or pump failure.

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

here is one of the best parts...no more buying upgrades and upgrades to get the features you want, it already comes with it....here is a SS of the software, everything is configurable through the server...have your lights been on to long while out of town? turn them off before you go to bed from your computer!

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

PH setup is extremely easy...literally go to the ph calibration section...hit continue and it does everything for you, just have to have the calibration fluids and it will time how long to leave in each etc...then your are done.

I'm getting a erroneous reading from inside the tank though I believe from ballast's or pump not sure.

Re: Biomatix Test Thread

'Nother bump.

This controller is interesting. Finally a svelte controller designed around ethernet based web server.

Two questions:

Are firmware revisions installed through the web server interface?

How much log data does the unit store internally for graphing, and is that data accessible through the web interface, or does one have to subscribe to the monthly service for access to that data?
