| Tunicate | I juz got a lion fish from my LFS and the bloke said i can train on it by feeding frozen brine shrimp since it is a baby or i can feed it the alive ones. but personally i don't want to feed the alive ones coz i feel so slag about watching them get eaten and i don't want my lion fish to get starve either. Any of you guys have this kind of problems before and want to know a few tips about keeping the lion fish. By the way the fish is still active and swimming quite well. |

| Acropora ![]() | Re: worried about my lion fish Well back in the day I fed my lion live gold fish, now of course that was almost 18 years ago and I have since learned that these live feeders are not the best for the fish anyway. Now frozen brine feeding does not have much nutritional value for the fish either. What you may want to do is get some frozen silversides, thaw one out thoughtly and tempt the lion with it. A pair of reef tongs would work to get the food down close enought to it to get it to feed.... Good luck

| Neon dottyback | Re: worried about my lion fish i feed mine, silverslides sliced and cut to look like ghost shrimp(small) and feed him 2 hrs after lights out, u have trick and train him, if he hasnt eatn in awhile , pick up some ghost shrimp, to throw in there, i had some survive, that he missed, well until he found them a few days later, good algae eaters too., and u could try waiting a week to feed, the starvation method, throw in some frozen krill, silverslides or shrimp, cut small, smaller then his mouth, just make sure it gets caught in the current, so he will chase it, and feed ur other fish, so there full, unless u have pigs like i did, feed them a 7 course meal and there still hungry
