Help me pick out final fish...

In my 50 gallon, I am considering adding a final fish, although I really can't decide what I want to add. I already have a foxface and a mandarin. I don't want anything that would compete with the mandarin for pods, pretty much wiping out any of the wrasses. I also don't want to add something too large and I don't want to go with any of the damsels/clownfishes...

I suppose that leaves me with gobys no? Would a clown goby work? The fairy bass could also work perhaps... Just curious what others might suggest. I like personality and color, and something that is peaceful...

Thanks
Scott T.

scott how about a swissguard basslet,or a candy basslet?I have a Swiss, love him.He likes to hide and comeout of odd places in the rockwork.Pseudochromis like the orchid dottyback are also not a bad choice, lots of color and personality.Tang species also help with a lot of algae control with adding a lot of different colors to any aquarium.I like the achilles myself.

Scott I've had a Yellow Watchman Goby for 3 years and I love the little guy. He's fun to watch extremely hardy not aggressive at all except for conspecifics. I would stay away from Dottybacks have one and really need to remove him just very belligerent.

Scott,
I recently ran across some "monofin" gobies. They are a type of dartfish, I stuck three of them in my reef tank at work, they are VERY cool and interact very well with each other. Might want to look into something like these guys, although I think they might be kind of hard to find, shouldn't cost too much though. If you are anything like me you want something more unusual that people don't see everyday.
I also like the swissguard suggestion, one of my favorites.
The candy hogfish I had in my 40 was great as well. An ultimate small reef tank inhabitant IMO. Didn't appear to eat pods, loved meaty foods and didn't touch my inverts. And was very colorful.

i say this as my best advice to a beginner. do not,,,and i repeat,,,,,DO NOT look at my tank as an example....i have a well practised eye, decades of experience, and a trunkload of failures to allow me to force the issue and get away with things most cannot~
